Regency students’ involvement in the community doesn’t stop with providing stellar beauty services.
They also work to find ways to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others.
The students at our Regency Beauty Institute-Clearwater and Carrollwood beauty school campuses in Florida teamed up to run as “Team Regency” at the Journey to a Cure 5k run/walk.
Fourteen participants from “Team Regency” participated in the 5k run/walk, hosted by the Suzanne Ciani Brain Cancer Foundation and rocked their Regency gear all the way to the finish line. There were 178 finishers total.
The students and staff were excited to participate and to help fund brain cancer research, said Carrollwood campus manager Lesa W.
As future cosmetologists, the students love to help others and support causes that impact the community.
“We thought it would be a great way to show the local community that we are for more than just up-and-coming hairstylists. We are here for the community as well,” said Lesa.
“Our students love what they do and most importantly, they love helping others in order to make a difference.”
Many of the students that participated in the charity event have since graduated, but the fun run was a way for the staff and students to spend time together.
“We were able to share in conversation, laughs and make memories that we will all remember,” Lesa said.
The students and staff recognized that even small actions can help have a big impact on their community.
“We always say, that we may be small in number, but we are mighty,” Lesa added.
