As designers showed off their latest collections during the Fall/Winter 2014 shows of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the hair, makeup and nails featured on the runway will no doubt spur the next season’s wave of beauty trends.

Regency team member and cosmetology student Chelsea S. shared some of her favorite emerging beauty trends straight from the runways in New York City.

Deep Side Parts

BCBG and J.Crew both dipped low with deep side parts. Making such a deep side part can help create a full swooping bang, and switching your part from its usual side can also add volume at the roots. It takes minimal effort to add this to your hair routine, but this easy step can make a look feel brand new.

Extreme Ponytails

Ponytails were taken to the extreme this season. They were pulled taut and reached for the sky giving each look a chic, severe feel. The sleek ponytails of Hervé Léger had bold streaks of color and the playful, sky-high ponies from Kate Spade fit in perfectly with her quirky collection.  A high ponytail like this looks much sleeker than something you would throw together for the gym, and doesn’t take  much practice to perfect.

Butter London Manicures

Katie Jane Hughes, butter LONDON global color ambassador, created nail looks for multiple shows this season including Libertine, Tadashi Shoji and Creatures of the Wind among others.  The butter LONDON manicures were all about detailed nail art, from chunky glitter to marbled masterpieces.

Dark Smoky Eyes

Most of the time a beauty look has one center of focus. At the Derek Lam show it was all about spooky, shadow eyes. The shadows scream autumn and were paired with nude lips to stay balanced.

While everyone else focuses on the fashion, the beauty trends coming down the runways of fashion week are what can really pull a look together. What not give it a try?
