Platform Artist Careers
Platform Artist – turn stage presence
into an exciting beauty career
You have natural confidence on stage along with lots of charisma. You love inspiring and informing others while meeting new people and seeking adventure. Use your great personality and fearless spirit to thrive in a career as a platform artist.
One of the most glamorous careers in cosmetology today, being a platform artist means demonstrating and promoting a company’s products, tools, and techniques to fellow cosmetologists. Platform artists general travel to trade shows or industry events, salons or spas, and other places a manufacturer may want to market their products.
Because most of a platform artist’s time is spent in the spotlight, they need to have lots of confidence and magnetism. Whether on the small stage in a salon demonstrating a new cosmetology technique or captivating an audience of hundreds at trade show, a platform artist is a performer. Your presentation style must be fun yet informative. High energy yet instructive.

travels the country as lead instructor and make-up artist for a major cosmetics manufacturer, plus she operates her own freelance business.
Platform artists are hired by beauty product manufacturers that need a skilled professional to demonstrate and promote their latest creations. Beauty companies rely on you to sell their products so being able to shift quickly from engaging presenter to convincing salesperson is the key to success in a platform artist job.
Platform artists demonstrate new hair and makeup trends, and new hair cutting, styling and coloring techniques. While some platform performances are designed to educate, others are designed to motivate. And, just like at a fashion show, some platform work isn't designed to be something you would see every day but rather stretches the limits of style and creativity to make for a more exciting performance or product presentation.
At Regency Beauty Institute, we offer a comprehensive cosmetology program covering hair coloring and styling, skin care and makeup, manicures and pedicures, and spa services. Regency Beauty Institute will prepare you for a successful platform artist career by providing you with a well-rounded cosmetology education and bringing out your natural creativity.
